All electrodes are classified in five basic groups.
And they are
Miter Saw Blade
1. mild steel
2. high-carbon steel
3. special alloy steel
4. cast iron and
5. nonferrous metal like aluminum.
Electrodes are made for use in specific positions and on many types of metals. They are designed for AC welders and DC welders. You will learn the basic of these electrodes today so keep reading.
The electrodes are classified by a symbol such as E-6010, E-7010, or E-8010 for example. The E identifies the electrode to be used for electric arc welding only. The two digits after E designate the allowable tensile strength per square inch. So if you have E-7010 it will mean 70,000 pounds per square inch that the weld will hold. Now that's a strong weld my friend. O.k. then what about the last two numbers. The third digit indicates the joint position needed for this electrode, so there will be two numbers that you will see, a 1 and a 2. The 1 will mean any position, so go a head and do some vertical up welds, over the head welds, it does not matter, it will do a great job. Now the 2 will mean you will be restricted on the positions and here they are. Horizontal or flat only, blah is that all it does? Yes so make sure you look for the 1 if you want a good all position electrode.
Now for the last number. This number will tell you all the special characteristics and they are all different by the manufacture so make sure you look on the box or ask a welder salesman at a welding store that sells this kind of stuff. The numbers range 1-8 just to let you know. Let me know if there is a special welding topic you want me to write about? I will be glad to. See you next time.

Christmas Sales Freud TK807 Avanti 12-Inch 96-Tooth ATB 1-Inch Arbor Ultra-Fine Finish Crosscut Blade Overview
The advanced thin-kerf design on the Freud TK807 Avanti ultra-fine finish crosscut blade was created for table saws, miter boxes, and radial arm saws. This blade features Freud's Tico high-density carbide, the perfect mixture of cobalt, tungsten, and titanium, designed to maximize cutting life. The Silver ICE coating, an industry-first protective coating, shields the blade from extreme heat, resin or pitch build-up, and corrosion up to 2 times longer than standard polished blades. The razor sharp teeth produce smooth crosscuts in hardwoods and softwoods, and will cut veneered plywood, chipboard, and delicate moldings. The thin kerf requires less cutting power which gives more control over the cut for safer operation, and is ideal for miter saws and underpowered table saws.Freud Tico high-density crosscutting blend carbideSilver ICE coating shields blade from extreme heat, resin or pitch build-up, and corrosionThin-kerf design increases machine performanceAlternate top bevel ( ATB ) tooth design produces splinter-free cutsIncludes Freud's limited lifetime guaranteeSAVE NOW on Christmas Sales Offers below!
