Greater maintenance is required and because there are moving parts possibility of break downs can occur.
So which is better a snow plow or a snow blower? That is up to you. Each has its' own benefit and downside, but it comes down to personal preference and how much time and money you want to spend. Either one is a lot better and faster than shoveling.
