Cornhole Plans - How to Make Your Own Cornhole Set

If you enjoy playing cornhole and are a do it yourself kind of person, here is a set of simple cornhole game plans for how to make a cornhole game set, along with the plans is a list of suggested tools. These plans use standard cornhole dimensions.

Step by Step Instructions

Step One

Take the 4x8 sheet of plywood and cut it into four equal sections, all 2x4. Then take one section and cut it into 4 sections that are 11 1/2" x 2'.

Step Two

Take two of the 2x4x8' boards and cut then into 4 equal lengths. They should be 3'x11 1/2". They are this size so that a riser can be added later on to tilt your finished board.

Step Three

Next take each of the 3'x11 1/2" boards and attach then with deck screws to each of the long sides of the platforms. Leave a 1/2" gap at the end you want to be the top of the game board.

Step Four

Measure between the side rail boards for the exact measurement for the top and bottom rails on each platform, then cut the remaining 2 x 4 to match those measurements. Then attach those cut pieces, on edge,with deck screws through the side pieces.

Step Five

Set the platform on the ground, right side up. You are about to find the cornhole position so, go to the top of the board. That is the end that does not have a rail. Find the center of the cornhole by measuring 9" from the top, then 12" from each of the sides. This will give you the dead nuts center of the cornhole. Now use a compass or a nail with a 3" piece of string attached to it and a pencil to draw a complete circle. After drawing the circle drill a hole in the center that is large enough to insert the blade of your jigsaw. Begin cutting out the circle you drew. After cutting out the hole then use the sandpaper to smooth out the edges.

Step Six

Now take one of the 11 1/2" x 2' boards and attach it above the cornhole. It will fit into that 1/2" gap and be affixed with deck screws to the side boards.

You are now ready to play cornhole. If you want to paint the boards we recommend that you use a primer and then gloss enamel. If you use outdoor/house paint the paint job should last as long as your boards.

It is a lot easier to buy your set and bags, but I hope the do-it-yourself people out there are able to use these instructions.

For the granite stone too this process is followed.

How Much Will My Laminate Flooring Cost?

The costs for installing laminate flooring in an average kitchen 10 feet by 10 feet can range anywhere from 0 to 00. Ipe Hardwood Floors: Awesome or Not?

If you know anything about Ipe hardwood, it is truly an amazing wood. It has a Janka rating of over 3600, making it one of the densest woods that are currently available on the hardwood flooring market. Ipe has a lot of very positive characteristics, but it also has its issues!

It is so dense that with even a marginal finish applied to the surface, most spills will pool on the top rather than penetrate below. And it survives the abuse from the even a 100 pound sheep dog with limited wear marks.

Ipe Hardwood Flooring is referred to by many names depending on the country of origin and who is making the flooring. Brand names like Ironwood(TM) and Pau Lope(TM) are common as are "consumer names" like Brazilian Walnut. For some reason, North American retailers think referring to it as a walnut will make it more understandable to today's consumers.

Ipe is really a cluster of many trees from the Bignoniaceae family (Tabebuia, spp) that share a common appearance and physical characteristics. They are all dense and rather straight grained. Some pieces look quite similar to teak. It is very resistant to decay, termite and dry insect attack, although this is not significant (I hope) when choosing ipe as interior flooring. It is VERY fire resistant as well.

Colour range varies from a medium straw with olive green overtones to a reddish brown with darker black streaks common in some boxes of ipe hardwood. Flooring samples can then have a very large range of colours. Make sure that you understand this, and don't buy, expecting colour uniformity. It is always best, if possible to visit a customer that has had this type of flooring in use for a number of years. You can then judge not only the appeal of the colouring but also the durability of the finish.

For installation it will require a very good quality grade of carbide blade on your miter saw to even attempt any trimming to length. If you have a large expanse of ipe flooring to cover, a second blade made be necessary. All holes, like those that you need to install for the first few rows of flooring will have to be drilled close to the size of the finishing nail you intend to use, otherwise you will split the wood. Experiment first, to save a few pieces of ipe flooring.

Electrodes are made for use in specific positions and on many types of metals. They are designed for AC welders and DC welders. You will learn the basic of these electrodes today so keep reading.

The electrodes are classified by a symbol such as E-6010, E-7010, or E-8010 for example. The E identifies the electrode to be used for electric arc welding only. The two digits after E designate the allowable tensile strength per square inch. So if you have E-7010 it will mean 70,000 pounds per square inch that the weld will hold. Now that's a strong weld my friend. O.k. then what about the last two numbers. The third digit indicates the joint position needed for this electrode, so there will be two numbers that you will see, a 1 and a 2. The 1 will mean any position, so go a head and do some vertical up welds, over the head welds, it does not matter, it will do a great job. Now the 2 will mean you will be restricted on the positions and here they are. Horizontal or flat only, blah is that all it does? Yes so make sure you look for the 1 if you want a good all position electrode.

Now for the last number. This number will tell you all the special characteristics and they are all different by the manufacture so make sure you look on the box or ask a welder salesman at a welding store that sells this kind of stuff. Preparing Your Pressure Washer For the Cold Winter Months

Now that you have purchased and enjoyed your pressure washer during the warm months, it's time to get ready for the cold winter months. If you live in an areas where the temperature never goes below freezing you may not need to do anything, but check your owner manual for yearly maintenance. Taking care of your pressure washer before the cold sets in will save you time and money in the spring.

Most pressure washer parts are made of plastic, brass or aluminum and each of these materials are soft and will break as water is left inside and freezes. Even though you may have not used the pressure washer in a while it still may contain water behind valves that may freeze and break the unit.

The following is a basic list of steps to take with your washer to prepare it for the winter months. Always check with your owner's manual for specific information about winter storage.

1. Disconnect the wand and hold the valve open and turn upside down; blowing air from a portable air compressor through the wand will insure that the wand has no water in it. In some pressure washers the wand cannot be removed from the hose, if you have one of these skip to # 2.

2. Remove the hose from the unit and drain all the water from it, use an air compressor to blow air through the hose if you have one. Coil the hose up and tie it in a small circle and hang it up on a wall or put on a shelf to store.

3. Look in your manual or on the bottom of the pump see if it has a drain plug for the water chamber, make sure your have the right drain plug, some unit have oil to cool and lubricate the pump. Once you have taking out the drain plug make sure the unit it unplugged and turn the pump or motor a couple of time to make sure all of the water is out of the pump chamber. The pump may turn hard and it may take two people to do this step. Store the plug somewhere safe and don't put it back in the pump, this will insure that no water will collect in the bottom of the pump.

4. If you have a soap or cleaning agent dispenser remove all the liquid and rinse out the container with water, put the liquid soap in a storage bottle and store it in the house to be used next year.

5. Now I recommend covering the unit with a small tarp or a heavy garbage bag to keep the dirt and dust off the unit. If you store it outside make sure you use a tarp and tie it on very well or us a couple of bungee cords. Make sure to store you pressure washer by itself and do not stack thing on top of it.

6. Now some unit have a built in hot water heater, use the same steps in #3 to drain the water from the heating chamber.

If you decide to use your pressure washer during the winter, don't forget to go through these steps again to make sure there is no water in the unit that can freeze and cost you big time repairs. Even if you have a heated garage or storage unit I still recommend preparing your unit for winter. A little work now and some tender care of your pressure washer will ensure years of care free use and saving in time and money.
